Time of the Warming
The
land has become the suns anvil, day after day the sun scorches the cracked
earth. Our fields
and forests burn and the water to quench them dries our thirst. Is this a taste
of warming, a foretaste of a venusion atmosphere, or a glitch on the slope of an
upward curve.
The
sun burns our souls with the intensity of a melonomic cancer. Our rivers and
lakes dry up and our houses collapse like sandcastles in a sahara wind. High
waterless clouds roll across the sky but give little hope of rain to replenish
our barren land.
Cars
and factories spew forth effluent to choke our lifeblood in the blistering heat.
Insects thrive and multiply in an attempt to replace us in the course of
evolution.
Rain, rain go away come again another day.
